The Bottom Line

To the church:

Do you believe God's Word that Scriptures is not of any private interpretation?

2 Peter 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation... (NASU)

If you believe this sure word, then the time for open debate on the subject of tithing has come. To have denominations, churches, and church leaders opposed to each other in regards to this matter is not healthy for the church. How can the church profess to speak with authority on Christian living when they cannot even agree on this one subject -- one that many now hold to be the most important part? Using historical and accepted principles of Biblical interpretation let's come to a Biblical position on this subject. Doing so publicly will be an exercise that testifies to all the church that we believe in the authority of God's Word alone (Sola Scriptura!). While not a slave to history, we must remember that the same Holy Spirit that gave Scriptures, and enables us to understand Scriptures, has spoken to believers of all generations. This witness should be considered. Their testimony also must be examined by the standard of God's Word and wherein their words and actions follow and illuminate Biblical practice; they are a godly witness to follow. Are you willing to take this challenge and then live by what you find to be true? It is our prayer for the church that the Reformation will always continue!

To the individual:

Live free by God's grace and don't let anyone enslave you again to the Law. Love more. Give God one hundred percent of all you are by His grace. Faithfully use one hundred percent of God's possessions that He has entrusted into your care. Give freely. Glorify God in and through all you do!

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
